Wile E. Coyote lives to chase the Roadrunner another day...barely. H/T to the guy behind me for not rear-ending me.

I love coyotes. There was one who ran into the brush on the side of the road while I was driving home at night last week. And sometimes I can hear them calling to each other. It always sounds like they’re laughing.

The coyotes in my neighborhood have been super loud the past few days

It’s that time of year. They’ve been pretty vocal here for the last week or so after being quiet all winter.

This is how I feel everytime I see a coyote running around the city. My street dead ends at a mountain preserve in the middle of a valley filled with 5 million people. I’ll get coyotes on my street every so often. I have better music playing in my head though.

I actually thought of that movie after it happened since I just watched it.

Yeah. I’ve actually had a gun close by on some occasions when I let my dogs out at night. There have been reports of cats and small dogs going missing. Cats in my neighborhood and dogs in nearby neighborhoods. I know it’s unlikely to find one in my fenced yard but I’d rather have the option. A rabid one attacked a man out running not terribly far away.

They’ve stayed out of my yard, but occasionally do walk in the street outside my fence. Fortunately they seem to mostly roam solo here. My in-laws live in Phoenix where coyotes roam the storm drainage canals and this time of year the light posts are plastered with missing cat signs. I think it’s pretty clear where the cats went.
